WHAT ARE EMAX CROWNS?

An e.Max crown is an all-ceramic dental restoration that is stronger than conventional stacked porcelain. Without an underlying metal coping, fabricating a beautiful and cementable ceramic restoration is achievable using an e.Max crown.

When to use e.max crowns

  • When you need outstanding esthetics
  • When your patient needs a crown that blends perfectly with the surrounding dentition
  • Full coverage crowns
  • Inlays
  • Onlays
  • Pressable ceramic veneers
  • e.Max crowns are not recommended for patients with bruxism or a hard bite. Instead, consider Zirconia crowns for bruxism patients

Properties of e.max crowns

The e.Max crown is the newest and most expensive type of crown. It is preferred over zirconium crowns because it is tougher and more durable. It is less prone to chipping than zirconium crowns. e.Max crowns are made from lithium disilicate ceramic, a material that has been harvested for its translucent color and durability. As a result, you get a crown that is tough and durable but looks exactly like your other teeth. The only downside of e.Max crowns is the cost. e.Max crowns are the best ones out there, so it is more than worth it to spend extra.
